Rate Changes Effective May 15

  • Value+ Protector II: As a result of the continued low interest rate environment while updating the Cash Value Accumulation Test (CVAT) interest rate to meet the new IRC 7702 requirements. View Value+ Bulletin.

DCA Rider Enhancement

Effective May 15, an enhanced Dollar Cost Averaging (DCA) Rider will be available on all new business for our Accumulation IUL and Protection IUL products issued on or after June 2018. View DCA Enhancement Bulletin.

Important 7702 New Business Update

While the changes the IRS made to 7702 generally have a neutral or positive impact on policy performance and case design flexibility, we have heard some concerns on the impact to certain in-force policies. To accommodate these concerns, we are offering a backdating option for some placed CVAT policies. Learn more.

Important: Transition Rules for Pending Advantage 1.0 Life Insurance Policies

Please note the following guidelines for pending Allianz Life Pro+ Advantage Fixed Index Universal Life Insurance Policy business that was submitted prior to 12/14/2020:

  • If a policy is out for delivery, delivery requirements and premium must be to Allianz by 6/11/2021 to be put inforce.
  • If a policy is currently pending, meaning all requirements are to Allianz, the client and producer will have 30 calendar days after the policy is issued to return all delivery requirements and premium to Allianz.
  • If Allianz is waiting on final requirements, any outstanding requirements must be into Allianz by June 1, 2021 to be eligible for the pre-changed version of the product.

If the above criteria is not met, your clients will not be eligible to receive a pre-changed version (pre-12/14/2020) of the product and the application will either be closed or will be eligible for a post-change version of the product.

ASSET TRANSFER TIPS 

For all annuity carriers

Transferring assets, or exchanging money via section 1035 of the tax code, may have tax consequences. Any questions regarding taxation should be referred to a qualified tax professional.

Call the Financial Institution/Insurance Company to see what they require to transfer the money e. g. some financial institutions, like Fidelity, require a call from the client to release money, others like Northwestern Mutual require their own surrender form to accompany the 1035/transfer form from the company receiving the money.

Attach a copy of a current policy/ account statement for the funds being transferred to the 1035/transfer document.

Complete the 1035/transfer form carefully and completely. Be sure all necessary signatures are obtained.

Send original transfer forms with the application to 3 Mark for processing.

Effective immediately, we are pleased to announce that we have eliminated the following COVID-19 application requirements that were instituted last year:

  • The supplemental application question “Have you, or anyone in your household, been exposed to any person known to have tested positive for COVID-19?”
  • The supplemental Declaration of Insurability delivery requirement for insureds over age 65 and for all cases with a 1035 exchange
