New Rates for PL Promise Term

On September 7, 2020, Pacific Life Insurance Company is adjusting rates for PL Promise Term.  For this reprice, new rates may be higher or lower than the old rates. Rates have been refreshed to increase consistency for solid competitiveness across all combinations of terms, risk classes, male/female, and issue ages. A 60-day transition period is provided. ASSET TRANSFER TIPS 

For all annuity carriers

Transferring assets, or exchanging money via section 1035 of the tax code, may have tax consequences. Any questions regarding taxation should be referred to a qualified tax professional.

Call the Financial Institution/Insurance Company to see what they require to transfer the money e. g. some financial institutions, like Fidelity, require a call from the client to release money, others like Northwestern Mutual require their own surrender form to accompany the 1035/transfer form from the company receiving the money.

Attach a copy of a current policy/ account statement for the funds being transferred to the 1035/transfer document.

Complete the 1035/transfer form carefully and completely. Be sure all necessary signatures are obtained.

Send original transfer forms with the application to 3 Mark for processing.

Symetra’s “Term to Perm” And “Perm to Perm” Underwriting Programs

Are your clients’ life insurance policies keeping up with their changing needs?  With Symetra’s External Term Conversion and Permanent Exchange Underwriting programs, clients can convert their external term policy or exchange their external permanent policy for a permanent Symetra life insurance policy.  To qualify, fully underwritten single life term or permanent insurance policies must have been purchased from our select group of carriers within the last five years. Review our External Term Conversion Program (PDF) and Permanent Exchange Underwriting Program (PDF) flyers for more details.

Temporary Additional Adjustment to Life Insurance New Business Guideline

In order to accelerate our efforts to return to normal service levels, we’re announcing the following two additional guideline adjustments. Implementation of these will allow us to continue to focus our resources where they can make the greatest impact.

  • All Principal Term applications with face amounts of $1 million and less must be submitted via Drop Ticket, effective Sept. 8, 2020.
  • All informal application reviews are being temporarily suspended, effective immediately.

You can use this overview to get more details on how the Drop Ticket process works. To submit a Drop Ticket, you can access the Principal Life Drop Ticket system at any time with no login required, or use your organization’s system.
