For all annuity carriers

Transferring assets, or exchanging money via section 1035 of the tax code, may have tax consequences. Any questions regarding taxation should be referred to a qualified tax professional.

Call the Financial Institution/Insurance Company to see what they require to transfer the money e. g. some financial institutions, like Fidelity, require a call from the client to release money, others like Northwestern Mutual require their own surrender form to accompany the 1035/transfer form from the company receiving the money.

Attach a copy of a current policy/ account statement for the funds being transferred to the 1035/transfer document.

Complete the 1035/transfer form carefully and completely. Be sure all necessary signatures are obtained.

Send original transfer forms with the application to 3 Mark for processing.

This safe and secure method keeps information protected and allows the process to keep moving. Principal receives the information in a couple of hours, which helps underwriting finish in a couple of days—offering significant cost savings with fewer cases lost due to process delays.

Important Update Regarding Life Insurance Processes

A 30-day grace period extension will be offered to all life and long-term care insurance policies with premium due dates through June 30, 2020. Please note, the grace period may be longer if required by the policyholder’s state of residence. As we continue to monitor state-required action, we will take appropriate action as needed and required.  For questions, call the Life Case Design Team at 800.950.7372.

John Hancock ExpressTrack now available via paper application submissions

  • No telephone interview required
  • Submissions must include the application (“Part I”), the medical supplement (“Part II”) and any other applicable authorizations
  • All application elements must be submitted simultaneously

Grace Periods

Effective May 15, 2020, if customers are experiencing a hardship and having difficulty paying their premium due to challenges presented by COVID-19, we will provide a total grace period of 90 days. We will continue to review and adjust this approach as appropriate and will, of course, follow any specific state requirements. We are here to support you and your customers during this challenging time.
